Mike Tyson’s candid response to Jake Paul confronting Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. just required one word.
After spending most of his career sparring with MMA legends like Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, and Nate Diaz, this will be one of the few times Paul has fought a professional boxer. His final fight took place at the end of 2024 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, when he faced the now-retired heavyweight legend Mike Tyson. He defeated the 58-year-old by unanimous decision during their contentious eight-round bout. When asked to sum up Paul’s forthcoming fight against Chavez Jr. in a single word, Tyson responded to the question in an interview with Fight Hype.
Paul will be one step closer to realising his lifelong goal of being a legitimate world champion and disproving his many sceptics if he defeats Chavez Jr. at the end of the month. A fight against current WBA world lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis is another possible opportunity for “The Problem Child.” It is reported that the two fighters are negotiating a surprise catchweight match that could happen before the end of 2025, though it appears to be contingent on Davis’ August 16 rematch with Lamont Roach Jr.
