The 2025 NFL season will see the Detroit Lions prepare for another strong postseason run. With two new coordinators and a far more difficult schedule, Detroit will have more challenges than ever in 2025. However, the Lions and Dan Campbell have never shied away from hardship. Thanks to years of superb drafting by general manager Brad Holmes, Detroit boasts one of the NFL’s deepest rosters. As a result, the team now has to deal with a lot of challenging questions each summer as they attempt to identify their top 53 players.

Thanks to years of superb drafting by general manager Brad Holmes, Detroit boasts one of the NFL’s deepest rosters. As a result, the team now has to deal with a lot of challenging questions each summer as they attempt to identify their top 53 players. Those decisions will be heavily influenced by the Lions’ training camp, which begins next month. Regretfully, not every athlete on the roster is given the opportunity to establish themselves throughout training camp. Which players, though, could be cut before training camp even starts? We’ll look at three Lions players below who might face cuts following the 2025 minicamp.

In the third round, they first made the contentious trade-up for Isaac TeSlaa. In subsequent rounds, Dominic Lovett was added. Suddenly, during training camp, the Lions must make some tough choices. Isaac TeSlaa, Tim Patrick, Jameson Williams, and Amon-Ra St. Brown seem certain to make the final roster. Given his value on special teams, I’m tempted to include Kalif Raymond in this group as well. The Lions already have five receivers, so there isn’t much space left for anyone else. For Ronnie Bell, that might be bad news. In January, Bell, a former 49ers receiver, joined Detroit’s practice squad.
