As Arsenal and Manchester City sent a strong title message, Mohamed Salah hinted to Liverpool’s future.
Mohamed Salah has sent a strong message to Manchester City and Arsenal by insisting that Liverpool “belong” at the top of the Premier League.
Arne Slot’s team defeated Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at Anfield thanks to the Egyptian’s incredible left-footed goal. Ferdi Kadioglu had given the visiting team the lead in the first half, but Cody Gakpo had earlier equalized for the Reds.
Liverpool now leads the Premier League by two points over second-place Man City and seven points over fourth-place Arsenal after their eighth league win of the year.
Salah’s goal against Brighton demonstrated his value to Slot’s squad and was his ninth goal for the Reds in 15 games across all competitions. However, the 32-year-old’s future is uncertain because his contract expires next summer, and it’s possible that he may go for nothing.
However, the Egyptian took to social media on Sunday to send a clear message, indicating that the former Roma player is not currently bothered by the rumors. Salah wrote on X: “This club belongs at the top of the table. Nothing less.
“Even though every team wins games, there is only one winner at the end. That is our goal. I appreciate your help last night. I will always remember what it feels like to score at Anfield, no matter what happens.
Last season, Man City won the Premier League for the fourth time in a row. However, Pep Guardiola’s team made a mistake against Bournemouth on Saturday, and the Cherries defeated the champs 2-1.
At St. James’ Park, however, a diligent Newcastle United team frustrated Arsenal. As Liverpool took advantage of subpar performances from Man City and Arsenal, a header from Alexander Isak gave Eddie Howe’s team all three points.
