After the birth of his kid, Denny Hamlin stopped racing in Mexico City.

Due to the birth of his first son and third kid on Wednesday, Denny Hamlin, the winner of the NASCAR Cup series race at Michigan International Speedway last Sunday, will not be competing this weekend in Mexico City. Hamlin, his fiancĂ©e Jordan Fish, their two kids, and their infant son will remain in North Carolina. In his place, Ryan Truex will be driving. Hamlin wrote, “See you guys in Pocono,” on social media. “We are pleased to share the news of our son’s birth. Everyone is doing fine. When Jordan is able to return home and we adjust to life as a family of five, my top priority is to be here at home for Jordan and our family throughout the coming days.”

After 15 races, Hamlin is presently ranked third in the Cup Series standings. In Mexico City, he will break his record of driving in 406 straight races, which began in 2014. Hamlin is anticipated to receive a waiver from NASCAR in order to participate in the Cup Series Championship playoffs. For the first time since 2014, Gibbs’ backup driver Truex will participate in a Cup series race.
