Chris Buescher Reacts to Chase Elliott’s Furious Martinsville Outburst
Chase Elliott finished second in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs’ final race of the Round of 8 at Martinsville on Sunday. For the Hendrick Motorsports driver to go to the Championship 4 in Phoenix, a victory was required. Second place went to him. The No. 9 squad had a few frustrating moments despite having a nice day overall. Early in the third stage, the most significant and erratic events occurred. But it all began in the middle of the previous stage when the HMS pit crew experienced a horrible stop that lasted more than 20 seconds due to a right rear issue. The car that had won the first stage fell back to 26th place. To the 2020 champion’s credit, he finished the race in 12th place.the phase. With so much on the line and so many drivers, including Elliott, driving with the same aggressive win-and-you’re-in mentality, the pressure naturally increased in that last stage.
