Trump and Putin agree that an hour-long phone conversation should conclude the Iran-Isreal crisis.

Details of a one-hour phone conversation between US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart, during which they agreed that the war between Israel and Iran should end, have been made public. Mr. Trump also stated in a post on his Truth Social platform that he informed Vladimir Putin that “his war [in Ukraine] should also end.” According to Israeli medics, the Iranian response has caused hundreds of injuries and at least three fatalities. Meanwhile, Iranian state television said that an attack on a neighborhood in Tehran on Saturday killed 60 people, including 20 children. On Saturday night, Iranian missiles were observed flying into Israeli airspace.

In the meantime, Tehran threatened the UK and other allies that if they assisted Israel in defending itself in the escalating crisis between the two heavily armed nations, their regional bases would be targeted, prompting the deployment of RAF planes and other military equipment to the Middle East. “President Putin called this morning to very kindly wish me a Happy Birthday, but more importantly, to talk about Iran, a country he knows very well,” Mr. Trump wrote in his post. We had a lengthy conversation.

The topic of Russia and Ukraine was discussed far less, but that will be covered next week. He is carrying out the scheduled prisoner swaps, which include exchanging a significant number of inmates from both sides right away. “The call went on for over an hour. He and I both believe that the Israel-Iran conflict should cease, so I responded that his war should too. According to Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov, President Putin voiced concerns about the possibility of escalation and denounced Israel’s military action in Iran. The Russian leader updated President Trump on his recent discussions with the leaders of Israel and Iran during the discussion, restating Russia’s aspirations to find amicable solutions to Iran’s escalating nuclear problem.

The official stated, “We are still committed to talks and hope the Iranians will come to the table soon, even though there won’t be a meeting on Sunday.”
