Trump says Iran needs to make a nuclear deal “before there is nothing left” and warns that Israel has “even more brutal” attacks planned.
President Donald Trump issued a warning on Friday that unless the Islamic Republic returns to the negotiating table, the next set of attacks will be “even more brutal” in response to Israel’s successful strikes against Iran’s nuclear sites and leadership. At 4:56 a.m., Trump stated on Truth Social, “There is still time to put an end to this slaughter, with the next already planned attacks being even more brutal.” There has already been a huge deal of death and destruction. “Iran needs to reach an agreement to preserve the Iranian Empire before it is destroyed. Just take action now, before it’s too late, to stop additional deaths and destruction.
In a statement released overnight, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) described the “preemptive, precise offensive.” More than ever, Iran is on the verge of acquiring a nuclear bomb. The Iranian regime’s possession of WMDs poses an existential threat to both the State of Israel and the international community, the statement said. “There is nothing the State of Israel can do but carry out its duty to defend its citizens.”
Early Friday morning, dozens of Israeli fighter planes targeted military and nuclear targets throughout Iran. Mossad agents have placed weaponry inside the nation before the strikes. Some of Iran’s most influential figures were killed by the Israeli raids, which also totally destroyed the country’s nuclear plant in Natanz. Iran’s beleaguered leadership suffered a serious setback when Gen. Hossein Salami, the commander of the paramilitary Revolutionary Guard, was slain. The strikes also claimed the lives of Esmail Qaani, commander of the Quds Force in the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the IRGC’s Air Force, Ali Shamkhani, a close aide to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and Major General Mohammad Bagheri, chief of staff of the country’s armed forces.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in a statement after Israel’s military operation that the United States had no say in the decision to attack Iran and urged the Islamic Republic to refrain from retaliating against the United States. Israel attacked Iran on its own initiative tonight. Protecting American personnel in the area is our first responsibility, and we are not taking part in operations against Iran. According to Israel’s advice to us, this action was required for its own protection,” Rubio stated. “To secure our forces and maintain continuous communication with our regional partners, President Trump and the Administration have taken the necessary actions. To be clear, Iran should not target American personnel or interests.
The ongoing nuclear talks between the Trump administration and Iran broke down on Wednesday. Trump said, “I’m less confident now than I would have been a couple of months ago,” and accused Tehran of “delaying.” The Pentagon ordered the removal of American military personnel and non-essential staff from embassies in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Baghdad as a result of the events.
“No matter how hard they tried, no matter how close they got, they just couldn’t get it done,” Trump stated on Truth Social after offering Iran “chance after chance” to reach an agreement.
The United States produces the best and most deadly military hardware in the world, by far, and Israel has a lot of it and will have more in the future. They know how to use it, so I told them it would be far worse than anything they knew, expected, or were taught. Some conservative Iranians spoke courageously, but they had no idea what was going to happen. Now that they’re all dead, things will only get worse! There is yet time to put an end to this slaughter, even though the next planned attacks will be considerably more vicious than the ones that have already occurred.
