Cristiano Ronaldo has accomplished a lot in his record-breaking career so far, but on Wednesday, the 40-year-old crossed off yet another accomplishment. Ronaldo defeated Die Mannschaft for the first time in his career as he scored the game-winning goal in Portugal’s 2-1 triumph over Germany in the UEFA Nations League quarterfinal.

Portugal had not won this match in 25 games, and Ronaldo had lost all five of his prior meetings with Germany.

Nuno Mendes set him up with a square pass, and five minutes later, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner tapped into an open nett to score the game-winning goal. It was Ronaldo’s 937th goal of his career and his 137th goal for Portugal in international competition, adding to his two existing records.
